This is sample Nez Perce Project.
Students took notes on a chart from the book Nez Perce People of the Northwest by Ruby Maile.
This is the blank chart.
The students then took the notes and turned the notes into sentences that they could tell to the class by using sign language. We videoed it two times. One time the kids just signed the sentence without speaking. They gave the class a chance to guess what they were saying. Then we showed the video with them signing the sentence and speaking while they signed.
This is a sample of the sentences that were created from our note taking.
